OtakuBooty: How’d you get started on your Nerdpr0n venture? There are lots of geeks that like porn and/or sex, but there’s a pretty big leap involved in making the jump from “liking sex” to “making and starring in your own porn site”.
Anna: It’s not just liking porn… I was always doing stuff like taking pictures during sex with my boyfriends and girlfriends or just taking my own pictures. I was originally a photography major, as well, so I ventured quite far into artistic-nude territory, and took a lot of pictures of other chicks as well as self-portraits. I have always loved nude photography, whether it be artistic or lewd, and when I started my livejournal years and years ago, I was putting pictures up in show_your_boobs long before I ever had a website. At some point, it occurred to me that I could put all my pictures up on a site, charge admission, and have extra cash to support my book habit, so that’s what I did.
OtakuBooty: What do you hope your site will accomplish?
Anna: I hope that it shows people that porn doesn’t have to be vapid, insulting, or corporate, and that porn is much like sexuality in that it should be fun and open-minded. When you don’t like what you do, it shows, and porn is no exception - when you stop having fun, people stop enjoying it, and far too many porn sites lack that essential element of fun. Porn should also, like sexuality, be creative and thoughtful. My brain is my biggest erogenous zone and I can’t be the only one!
OtakuBooty: Traditionally, geeks have been viewed as the antithesis of sexual beings - losers and loners that can’t get dates. Obviously you don’t fit this stereotype but how do you feel about the accuracy of this stereotype in general?
Anna: I would like to mention that I do fit this stereotype to a degree - I am very, very shy in person, and one does not get many dates if one can’t manage to talk to people. I also have some very esoteric interests and it’s pretty hard for me to meet people that I can talk to. Also, if I feel like someone is just asking me out because they think I’m pretty but don’t actually give a crap about my brains or personality, it really pisses me off…so it’s not like my social calendar runneth over. But I am far from lonely, as I do have the most wonderful friends, companions and lovers, and as a matter of fact, so do many of the geeks that I know, because they’ve made great connections with other geeks!
